We seem to have come full circle with MAN. P & M Watson used to operate Man trucks over twenty-five years ago, and PMW has operated a variety (Foden, Hino & Volvo), but has returned to MAN for a full package of vehicle and maintenance. It is of paramount importance to have well maintained, reliable, well-built trucks (not to mention that they also look pretty smart!). With MAN Truck & Bus we have found the perfect truck for our job, in with Pelican Engineering we have found the perfect dealership to look after our trucks. We have taken delivery of four new Euro 6 trucks, which takes us up to a fleet of twelve, and they are already providing us with better fuel economy. The Euro 6’s core elements are the torquey six cylinder engines. MAN uses the key technologies common rail injection, exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR), selective reduction (SCR) and diesel particulate filter (DPF/CRT). The result is that MAN engines in Euro 6, set the standards in terms of low fuel consumption and have very low Ad Blue consumption which makes it the best on the market for the environment. With a large fleet, it is vital that all vehicles are serviced correctly and on time, whilst keeping down-time to an absolute minimum. Vehicles are generally dropped off at Pelican Engineering at the end of a working day, a courtesy car given to the driver, and then the truck is picked up the next morning after the service is completed and any other work carried out. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with both MAN & Pelican Engineering, and also to a further increase in our size of fleet in the not so distant future.
We were proud to exhibit one of our new Euro 6 trucks at the show in Harrogate in May. This was done in conjunction with Pelican Engineering, and although maybe not the best spot in the exhibition, it certainly looked impressive, and we hope to gain an improved position for the show next year.
NDB Tippers have bought an ex-rental PMW vehicle which will working alongside the fleet from the beginning of August 2015. The truck will retain our livery and also continue to be maintained at Pelican Engineering. We have worked with NDB for a long number of years, and this arrangement seems to be the perfect progression.
We are now approved hauliers for Cemex UK Products, and will be offering our service to Cemex at Stourton, Leeds which should suit both Cemex, Cemex customers & ourselves.

After a very successful few years, Carr Hill Quarry Restoration is almost complete, and we are now only taking in clean, recyclable material (hardcore, stone, concrete, brick, tarmac). Please note – We still do more than our fair share of muckshifts!
