RIDING WOOD CASE STUDY

J N BENTLEY LTD

PMW Quarries Ltd have been privileged to supply various construction materials to J N Bentley at Riding Wood Reservoir during 2017.

J N Bentley were tasked with stabilisation of the embankment following a minor slippage and subsequent ground investigations.

After completion of a retaining wall at the toe of the embankment a large tonnage of aggregates were imported to site by PMW Quarries Ltd. The main engineering product was 6F5, a quarried certified crushed stone produced locally from Appleton Quarry, Shepley. A product called Type A filter medium, a 20mm product containing dust was supplied to aid the drainage of water on the project. 40mm clean Type B filter material, for use on the land drains, was imported, along with screened topsoil to cover the engineering material and ensure the impact on the surrounding area was untraceable.

Overall 38.5 thousand tonnes of aggregates were used on the project, which amounts to nearly two thousand loads delivered to site in the 37 week period.
Paul Greenleaf, Company Director of PMW Quarries Ltd said “The team at PMW are very proud of this accomplishment. With expert management and endless enthusiasm, all obstacles were overcome to ensure there were no delays to the project”.

‘PMW Quarries have been supplying engineering products to us for nearly two decades. Their products come with current certificates and conform to all industry standards.
